Meet the Experts

I work on a team that has global oversight and ownership of Visa’s compliance programs—Visa Dispute Monitoring Program (VDMP), Visa Fraud Monitoring Program (VFMP), Visa Acquirer Monitoring Program (VAMP), and Visa Issuer Monitoring Program (VIMP), as well as ownership of the Global Acquirer Risk Standards (GARS).

My previous roles in the payments industry include head of payments at a community bank and executive roles in operations and later business development at a mid-sized ISO. I hold an MS in Leadership and Organizational Development from The University of Texas at Dallas.

I am an International Coaching Federation (ICF) certified coach, an aviation enthusiast and an amateur chef.

With nearly 25 years of payment industry experience, including 14 years with Visa, I am responsible for providing economic analysis and business intelligence to Visa executives and clients. My insights on the payments industry, leveraging Visa’s proprietary VisaNet data assets and experienced team of economists, help companies identify the trends that matter most to the strategic direction of their businesses and customers.

I work with processors (issuer and acquirer), group service providers and other stakeholders who sponsor clients for issuing Visa products assuring product, operations and services compliance. I also serve on numerous Visa committees and volunteer as a mentor for members of the US military transitioning to the civilian workforce. Over my 20+ years at Visa I’ve held roles educating and supporting issuing and acquiring processors, hardware device management, and all aspects of customer support. I am recognized as an industry expert in evaluating payment processing options and applying current regulations to meet today’s evolving marketplace.

I am a former professional roller-skating coach, a collector of Dr. Seuss Unorthodox Taxidermy. I also enjoy coastal drives into California wine country in my 1965 Mercedes Benz 230sl.

I head Visa’s global central bank digital currency (CBDC) program and blockchain protocol research and development, where I work to build digital payment solutions with central banks, financial partners and global infrastructure technology companies. I lead Visa's CBDC engagements with over 40 different central banks, along with Web3 players and banks. I have published several technical whitepapers and policy papers for Visa on digital currencies and digital payments using blockchain technologies. Prior to Visa, I spent several years focused on stablecoin research and decentralized governance and Oracle design.

When I’m not working, you can find me reading about macroeconomics and blockchain technologies, painting and playing tennis.

I am the founder and Managing Partner of Intuition International Ltd., a management consulting and executive training company specializing in electronic payments. I have more than 35 years of experience in advising banks across the world on the strategic, product development, risk management, profitability and digital marketing components of consumer payment programs, including debit, credit and prepaid cards.

As Training Manager for Visa, I am responsible for delivering training to our North American clients. I specialize in disputes training and was proud to be the instructor for the first-ever course of the Visa Dispute Resolution Certification scholarship program.

Prior to joining Visa, I managed the dispute resolution management team at Mastercard for 24 years. I also worked at Chase Manhattan Bank for several years. Outside of work, I enjoy music and play several instruments including a hammered dulcimer.

As Head of Digital and Authentication in Europe, I lead the development of new payment authentication solutions as well as the enhancement of existing solutions, including tokenization and 3D Secure (3DS). I have more than 16 years of leadership experience at Visa during which I helped develop payment security strategy including solutions and programs across our contactless, chip and eCommerce payment products. My most recent efforts in the development and rollout of EMV 3DS have translated into successful early adoption of the technology in Europe and across the globe.

When I’m not working, I love to travel. I have been to six continents and more than 30 countries – and can’t wait to visit even more places in the future!

Over the course of 23 years in the payments industry, I have been involved in innovation, digital and emerging payments and leading global go-to-market and risk teams. In my current role as Global Head of Risk Capabilities, Strategies and Solutions, I ensure that Visa remains the leader in protecting the payments ecosystem. I’m responsible for developing and executing the global risk strategy while leading key risk innovation initiatives, risk management information systems (MIS), risk operations, data security and brand risk.

I lead product strategy and new initiatives for the Visa cryptocurrency team, which explores cutting-edge cryptocurrency technologies and identifies areas to integrate this technology into Visa’s business. I have been an active participant in the cryptocurrency ecosystem since 2015 and I continue to engage with the latest innovations in blockchain scaling solutions (Layer 2 and proof-of-stake), decentralized finance (DeFi) and non-fungible tokens (NFTs).

In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis and basketball and trying new restaurants.

As part of Visa’s Global Interchange team I work to ensure that Visa may continue to use interchange as a tool to expand the Visa payments network. Prior to Visa, I worked in various management consulting roles. I have degrees from Booth School of Business and the U.C. Berkeley.

Outside of Visa I enjoy running and traveling.

I head a team managing Visa’s global relationships with fintech enablers and payments infrastructure players such as Stripe, Marqeta, and Plaid. My career at Visa began as a product manager building global expansion and internationalization features for Visa’s digital products. I have since moved into partnerships holding several positions with increasing responsibilities.

I have performed with three a cappella groups over 12 years and am an avid foodie, both as an at-home chef and exploring restaurants around the world!

As global head of crypto, I lead the crypto product team within Visa’s digital partnerships, innovation and fintech organization. Our team is focused on connecting crypto and blockchain networks to our trusted, global payment network and propelling innovation to deliver even more access and value to the crypto ecosystem. Prior to working at Visa, I worked on business development for TrialPay, a fintech startup that Visa acquired in 2015.

Outside of work, I’m an active collector of non-fungible token (NFT) based crypto art.

I primarily focus on business development efforts related to lending, banking, bill payment, cryptocurrency and remittance. I’ve worked with clients from around the globe to broker long-term relationships that allow access to the Visa network for fast, safe and reliable money movement. Prior to joining Visa, I worked for a global leader in prepaid gift cards and specialized in open loop gift cards and functionality.

Outside of Visa, I am an avid golfer and competitive open-wheel driver.
